Environmental & Climate Justice Committee

Communities of color are often disproportionately burdened by pollution and other environmental harm

Communities of color are often disproportionately burdened by pollution and other environmental harms, and often do not receive an equitable share of benefits associated with green spaces, transportation, and community planning. It's essential to correct these inequities and ensure that people of color in our community have safe, healthy housing; a transportation system that benefits everyone; walkable, bike-friendly neighborhoods; and access to green spaces. Through our recently formed Environmental & Climate Justice Committee, we are in the early stages of working with Conservation Law Foundation and the New Hampshire Chapter of The Nature Conservancy to identify and advance needed actions to ensure a healthy environment for people of color.
