Healing Circles

Our Racial Healing Circles are designed to provide a supportive, communal space for Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPoC), and Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) individuals, who are specifically vulnerable to race-based traumatic stress (RBTS). These circles offer a structured environment for sharing experiences, reflecting on personal and collective challenges, and fostering connections within our community. Through guided discussions and thoughtful prompts, participants can explore their journeys and find common ground, contributing to a sense of collective healing and understanding. This space is specifically intended for those who identify as BIPoC or AAPI, aiming to support and uplift these communities through shared dialogue and mutual support.

The Problem: Race-Based Traumatic Stress (RBTS)

- RBTS stems from experiences of racism and witnessing discrimination.
- It includes personal incidents, media exposure, and historical trauma.

Impact on Wellbeing

- RBTS affects mental and emotional health, causing anger, depression, and anxiety.
- Acknowledging and addressing RBTS supports healing from racism's effects.

The Goal: Racial Healing

 - Racial healing confronts past and present racism, building trust.

- It facilitates authentic relationships and addresses systemic issues.

What We Offer: Healing Circles

 - Safe spaces to share stories, emotions, and experiences.

- Welcoming, inclusive environment with tools for healing.

- Healing Circles promote awareness, compassion, and empathy.

- Trained practitioners ensure confidential, truthful conversations.

- Teens—Third Tuesday at 7 PM
